MEN'S 50+ FINAL
Keith Boyea defeated Leroy Lewis 4/9, 9/7, 9/0, 4/9, 9/6
In the Men's 50+ Final, it was Keith Boyea facing Leroy Lewis
in a battle of the unbeatens, in the Round Robin draw.
In the first game, the players traded rallies to tie up at 3-3, then
4-4. Lewis then edged ahead 7-4 and clinched the game 9/4.
In the 2nd game, Lewis took a quick 2-0 lead, and continued
further to 4-1. Lewis extended the lead to 5-2, before Boyea
tied things up at 5-5. Boyea then went on to steal the game 9/7.
It was Boyea who too the early lead in the 3rd game, reaching
7-0 and went on to win 9/0.
In the 4th game, Lewis raced away to a 5-1 lead, before
Boyea made a comeback to 3-5. Lewis maintained the
advantage however, winning the game 9/4.
In a competitive 5th game, the score was tied at 1-1 and 2-2,
before Lewis went ahead 5-2. Boyea inched up closer to reach
4-5, but Lewis kept the lead at 6-4. The score evened up again
at 6-6, but it was Boyea who emerged on top 9/6 to win the
title.
GIRLS' UNDER 19 FINAL
Amber Glasgow defeated Aiko Roudette 10/8, 10/9, 9/2
The Girls Under 19 final pitted rivals Aiko Roudette and
Amber Glasgow against each other for the title.
The first game saw Roudette take an early lead at 4-0, and
keep ahead to reach 5-2. Roudette maintained control to get to
game ball at 8-3, but Glasgow made a determined comeback
all the way to 8-8. She then stole the lead at 9-8, and clinched
the game 10/9.
The second game saw Roudette breaking a 1-1 tie to reach
3-1 in the early stages. She kept the lead to 4-2, before
Glasgow took over at 5-4 and 7-4. Roudette closed in 8-8, but
Glasgow pushed ahead to win 10/8.
After letting go the first two games, Roudette couldn't muster
up the guts to fight back in the 3rd game. Glasgow didn't help
her either, firing away to 7-2 and eventually winning 9/2.
MEN'S OPEN FINAL
James Bentick defeated Paul Cyrus 9/2, 9/1, 9/0
In the grand finale of the tournament, top seeds James Bentick
and Paul Cyrus faced off for the title of Men's Open Champion.
In the first game, it was Cyrus who attacked first to lead at 2-0.
Bentick quickly answered back, subsequently winning the game
9/2.
The 2nd game was all Bentick, with the defending champ
charging away to 9/1.
Again, Bentick maintained the pressure to seal the match 9/0.
